LactTube 3.0 5FR Pediatric Feeding Tube - Lactation Aid

LactTube is a medical grade feeding tube, created with babies in mind and parents in heart. Our Lactation Aid helps parents to supplement their babies without interfering with breastfeeding. Parents can use this feeding tube along with a container for breastmilk or formula such as a bottle. Tube can be inserted in the corner of baby's mouth or used for finger-feeding. If parent chooses to use the LactTube at the breast, a medical tape can be helpful to keep the tubing in place. LactTube is compatible with all oral syringes (not an En-Fit conenction). Syringe is neccesary to use with LactTube for cleaning purposes (syringes sold separately). LactTube is designed to be used on short-term basis of no more than two weeks.

Before First Use:
Sterilize by steaming or boiling for 3 minutes.

After Each Use:
Wash with warm, soapy water and air dry.
Dishwasher safe (top rack) for occasional use.

When to Replace:
If flange becomes cracked, sticky, or damaged. Slight discoloration is normal with long-term use.

How to Choose Your Size

Work with an IBCLC or trained lactation provider for best results. Measure the nipple tip only (not the base) BEFORE pumping or nusing your baby, and select the size closest to your true diameter. Use lubrication to enhance comfort and seal.

How to Use

Push the flange firmly into your breast pump connector with a slight twisting motion for a secure fit. The BabyMotion window can be positioned anywhere on the breast for maximum comfort.

Nipple Corrector with Natural Suction 

• Helps to draw out flat and inverted nipples
• Can be applied prior to the feeding - by enlarging and elongating the nipple, it temporairly allows baby to grasp and establish a good latch

Sore and cracked nipples can be a real problem for breast-feeding mothers. This issue is one of the most common reasons moms stop breast-feeding early in their experience. Addressing latch, positioning and doing a thorough oral assessment is the key. In the mean time, it is important to help mothers' nipples heal. 

The best treatment for nipple injuries is prevention! However, when they do occur, MediHoney® Wound and Burn Dressing may be used to help provide protection to the area, decrease chafing and help the injury to close.

MediHoney Paste (100% Active Leptospermum Honey) is the most appropriate of the Medihoney products for this use. When using MediHoney, we recommend the following:

• After nursing, gently cleanse the nipple area with a warm washcloth to remove any of the baby’s saliva
• Extrude a small amount of MediHoney from the tube and gently apply to the nipple and the areola 
• Just prior to nursing your baby, use a warm wet washcloth to clean off any MediHoney prior to allowing the baby to latch.
